The 2012 Galaxy of Stars Talent Search Semi-Finals & Finals at the Nebraska State Fair
in Grand Island was again another exciting and rewarding experience. Contestants in the Forty-two Semi-Finals entries performed in Fonner Park on the Bristol Windows Stage. The Finals followed on Sunday, September 2nd, ending with the Awards Ceremony. It is always good to see the progress in the development of returning contestants and our featured entertainers and to meet new Nebraska talent.

LOCAL TALENT SEARCH OPPORTUNITY: The Galaxy of Stars® Talent Search has an exciting opportunity
again this year. Communities that host a local talent search or an organization that would like to start a talent
search may apply to the Galaxy of Stars® to advance their local winner(s) to represent their community and
compete at the Galaxy of Stars ® Talent Search Semi-Finals at the Nebraska State Fair. The winners qualified
to advance from each local talent search are subject to the number of local entries in each contest and a
required level of proficiency. Final determination will be at the discretion of the judges and administration of
the local talent search.

MAIL-IN VIDEO ENTRIES DUE IN THE GALAXY OF STARS OFFICE BY JUNE 30, 2012. Entries received after this date will not be entered into the contest. Submit all required forms to GALAXY OF STARS, P.O. BOX 3566, BRENTWOOD, TN 37024.
Video Entry: Download and mail all required Entry Forms with your video and entry fee. Performance Time is Four (4) minutes or less. An additional 30 seconds can be used for an optional Introduction. Video Entries are judged in Nashville, Tennessee. The entry fee is $35.00 for each video entry submitted. Judges Comments will be returned for each entry submitted. The Highest Scoring Video Entries in each Age Division will advance to the Semi-Finals at the Nebraska State Fair September 1st. A list of Video Entry Contestants who qualify to advance to the Semi-Finals at the Nebraska State Fair will be posted on the website by July 18, 2012. A Registration Packet will be mailed to contestants advancing to the Semi-Finals. Contestants advancing to the Finals on Sunday, September 2, 2012, will be announced at the end of the Semi-Finals competition on Saturday. Open to Residents of Nebraska. TALENT SEARCH AWARDS will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners in each of Three Age Divisions, Superstar Award (Performance Voted Best by all Contestants), People’s Choice Award, The “Shine” Award (Highest Scoring Contestant in “Star Quality) and the Mega Star Award (Overall Highest Scoring Performance of all Three Age Divisions). Medals will be presented to the Semi-Final Contestants on September 1st. Recording Sessions will be awarded to the Overall 1st and 2nd Place vocalists. SONGWRITING AWARDS: The top 15 original songs will be announced September 2nd during the Galaxy of Stars® Talent Search Awards Ceremony. Medals will be presented to the writers of the top 15 songs and awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place songwriters in the contest. Recording Sessions will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd Place songwriters.

Download and mail all required Entry Forms with your CD or Cassette and entry fee. Length of time for a song is five minutes or less. Music industry professionals in Nashville, Tennessee will judge all entries. Judges Comments will be returned for each song submitted. The Entry Fee is $35.00 for each song, $25.00 for songwriters who have a NSAI membership. The Top 15 songs will be posted on the website in random order by July 25th. The top 3 Songwriters will be notified and given the opportunity to showcase their winning songs at the Nebraska State Fair Galaxy of Stars® Talent Search Finals on Sunday, September 2nd, during the 1:00 – 5:00 PM Finals competition.
